The Intel Core i5-12400F is the best 12-thread processor from the Alder Lake family in terms of gaming performance. Unlike older Core i7/i9 processors from the Alder Lake family with a hybrid core structure, this Core i5 uses only Golden Cove Performance cores with a high IPC (number of instructions per clock cycle), which leads to a significant increase in single-core performance. In total, it has 6 physical and 6 virtual cores, which normally operate at a frequency of 2.5 GHz and can automatically overclock to 4.4 GHz.

One of the fastest 6-core processors for gaming

Thanks to this approach, the i5-12400F proved to be one of the most powerful 6-core processors on the market, in many ways ahead of the popular six-core processors from the AMD Ryzen camp and the Core i5 models of previous generations. In particular, in games it turns out to be almost 15% faster than its predecessor Core i5-11400.
