Everything suits me in the i5-12500. You can take i5-12600 (max frequency is slightly higher).
UHD770. Powerful enough. During the toughest stress tests, it did not overheat above 87 degrees when loading all cores at 100%. Cooler Thermalright Assassin King 120 Mini. I added another 120 fan in front of the radiator to it.
The price is a little high at the time of purchase (June 22, but now it has become even more expensive.)

For those who think "why do we need PCIe x16 5.0", I explain: for video cards with small amounts of memory. There are motherboards with DDR4
10 cores, 6 high-performance and 4 low-power ones, did not disappoint.
Why does the i5 12600k cost more than the i5 12600kf, dear folks? There will be a hassle with Windows 11.

No matter what anyone says in defense of the Reds, they still lag behind Intel. And take cases with 200mm fans for it if you are going to drive
the 1060 6GB can handle 100% load without any problems, as it "heats" up no higher than 40°C and usage doesn't exceed 30% across all cores. The 3060 is twice as powerful. You can estimate its potential and that's without overclocking. Water cooling is NOT NEEDED for it! Buy thermal paste like MX-4 and update it every six months to a year.
Windows didn’t understand for a long time what you were trying to sell it and stubbornly showed 2 cores 4 threads, disabling the video core through the device manager solved the problem

6 cores - minimum for games 2023 - 2024

System requirements for AAA games continue to rise, and in 2023 it became obvious that 4-core processors could no longer cope with the tasks. This is especially noticeable in games like Starfield, which seriously loads processors when landing in large cities. Therefore, even for inexpensive gaming systems, it is worth considering modern 6-core processors such as Ryzen 5 or Core i5. One of the best in terms of price-performance ratio is the Core i5-12400.

6 cores, 12 threads

Unlike the older Core i5 and Core i7 models of the Alder Lake series, the Core i5-12400 uses only Performance cores with high IPC, which are automatically overclocked to 4.4 GHz. Eliminating energy-efficient E-cores allows you to maximize the performance of each core, which is especially important for game engines like Unreal Engine 5. The processor supports DDR5 memory and the PCIe 5.0 bus, although for low-cost systems it is preferable to use DDR4, since the performance gain from high-frequency memory in games is minimal.

Direct competitor to Ryzen 5 5600

In gaming tests, the i5-12400 shows excellent results, comparable to the more expensive Core i7 of previous generations. Paired with a GeForce RTX 4060 or Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card, this processor can easily handle modern games at 1080p and 1440p resolutions. An alternative could be the Ryzen 5 5600, which is slightly inferior to the i5-12400 in gaming performance, does not support DDR5 and is tied to the outdated AM4 platform, but is cheaper by one and a half thousand hryvnia.
