M.2

— the presence of an M.2 interface on the motherboard. With small connector size, it is quite versatile and can be used both for miniature SSD drives in the appropriate form factor and for various expansion cards (most often, various wireless adapters are made for M.2).

Note that different connection interfaces can be implemented through the M.2 connector: SATA (for hard drives), PCI-E with certain number of lines (for SSD modules and expansion cards), or both at once. The specific number of connectors and supported interfaces can be different: for example, out of two M.2 ports, one can work both as SATA and PCI-E, the other can only work as PCI-E. These details should be specified separately.
