According to Huawei, the Freebuds are best suited for users looking for a high-quality sounding and well-equipped true wireless headset that will allow them to enjoy music on public transport, on an airplane or in a crowded gym.
Starting in 2021, Huawei began to actively expand the range of Freebuds, releasing full-size on-ear headphones for gamers and musicians FreeBuds Studio, as well as design modifications of regular Freebuds with a lipstick-shaped charging case.
However, it is the wireless in-ear headphones a la AirPods and the more popular vacuum headphones that are inserted into the ear canal that continue to play the leading role. In the latter, more miniature emitters are usually used, a smaller battery is built into the charging case, and the water protection of the case is of a more modest class. Similar Freebuds models go on sale with the prefix "i" or "Lite" in the name.
Also, the “i” or “Lite” models have more modest functionality: adaptive noise reduction or complex gesture control systems are much less common in them, and the basic set usually includes support for popular audio codecs, microphone noise reduction and a simplified ANC system.
At the same time, earbuds with the prefix "i" can play longer on a single battery charge. In particular, for the Freebuds 4i earbuds released in the summer of 2021, up to 10 hours of music playback are stated, while the Freebuds 4 earbuds are designed for 4 hours of continuous operation.
