Headphones with 3.5 mm jack

 

— the most popular headphone jack nowadays; usually, when they talk about “headphone output” without specifying the connector, they mean it. The 3.5 mm plug is used as the main one in many modern "ears", and other connection methods (for example, 6.35 mm) are often implemented through adapters to the "minijack".

It is worth noting that the headphones without a microphone use a three-pin mini-jack plug, suitable for any headphone output with a 3.5 mm jack. Models with a microphone use a four-pin plug, designed to connect to a headphone plus microphone combo jack; such connectors are used in most smartphones and tablets, and are also often installed in laptops. But with a socket designed only for "ears" without a microphone, the 4-pin plug may not work correctly.
