— an interface originally created for hard drives, the most advanced of today's SATA versions. Compatible with earlier versions of SATA 1 and SATA 2, except that the bandwidth with this connection will be limited by the capabilities of the slowest interface (150 MB / s and 300 MB / s, respectively). Specifically, in SATA 3, the throughput is about 5.9 Gbps (about 600 MB / s) — this is relatively small by the standards of an SSD, but it is quite enough for simple tasks.
