All such devices can provide space heating when the main heating is turned off (or it does not make sense to use it), but it is difficult to do without heating at all. But not every such unit can endure the winter cold. Nevertheless, quite a few modern air conditioners are quite frost-resistant; see "Heating T”, there you can also select models for specific climatic conditions.

Also note that conditioners with heating are designed to complement conventional heating systems rather than replace them. However, even such an addition can be very beneficial — much more profitable than traditional electric heaters. The fact is that the air conditioner gives out much more energy into the room in the form of heat than it consumes from the network (whereas for conventional heaters, the thermal power is equal to the consumed). And some powerful and performant models in terms of their capabilities are already approaching full-fledged heat pumps.
