— monoblock air conditioners are installed on the floor and can be moved within the room (for which they are often equipped with wheels). They communicate with the external environment using a flexible hose, which is exposed through a window or door.

Note that the operation of such units differs from split systems: portable air conditioners divide the air passed through themselves into two parts, one of which is cooled, and the second is heated. When working for cooling, cold air returns to the room, and warm air is removed through the duct to the outside while working for heating, respectively, and vice versa. So, with similar capacity, the actual efficiency of this type of air conditioner is lower than that of a split system since the operation of the device requires a constant supply of outside air into the room. On the other hand, a portable air conditioner can be a real salvation where there is no way to install a split system. In addition, due to the possibility of movement, such a unit can serve several rooms in turn, playing the role of the simplest and most inexpensive alternative to multiple split systems.
