12 virtual streams. 32MB L3 cache.
6 Zen 2 multi-threaded cores, 32MB L3 cache. The PCIe 4.0 controller provides 24 lines of this interface.

The Ryzen 5 Matisse processor series belongs to the entry-level 7-nanometer solutions, first released by AMD in 2019. Thanks to SMT technology support, the model implements multithreading: each of the 6 cores can handle two command threads, which positively affects the performance and overall efficiency of the CPU. The AMD 3600 OEM processor has a base clock speed of 3.6 GHz with the ability to automatically boost up to 4.2 GHz.

Additionally, these values can be adjusted using an unlocked multiplier. The "engine" has a total of 35 MB cache memory (including 32 MB of L3 cache), is compatible with motherboards using the AM4 socket, and supports DDR4 3200 MHz RAM. This model comes without a cooler and does not include an integrated graphics core, meaning a cooling system for the CPU and a graphics adapter for the assembled computer must be purchased separately.

Model overview based on user reviews
The AMD Ryzen 5 Matisse series, including models like the 3600, 3600X, and 3500X, is highly praised for its excellent price-to-performance ratio, making it a popular choice for both gaming and productivity tasks. Users appreciate its 6-core, 12-thread configuration, which provides strong performance in various applications. The processors are noted for their cool operation under normal conditions, though some users recommend upgrading the stock cooler for better thermal management, especially during overclocking. The 7nm process technology contributes to its efficiency, although some users report temperature fluctuations. The series is also recognized for its compatibility with affordable motherboards and support for high RAM frequencies. While some users have experienced issues with the memory controller and cooling, the overall consensus is that the Ryzen 5 Matisse offers great value for its price, particularly for those upgrading from older platforms. However, potential buyers are advised to consider current pricing and alternatives like the Ryzen 5600X for future-proofing.

Ryzen 5 3600 - the first door to upgrade from older platforms)
30 June 2023
Passed from platform 1155 (xeon e3-1235), system performance - heaven and earth. I took the ASUS Prime B450M-K II motherboard and the 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (3200 MHz) kit. Truly a people's processor in terms of price / quality ratio. According to tests in games, it is at the level of 5500. For home purposes, it is enough for the eyes even without overclocking. Bios did not need to be updated.
Productivity in the price / quality ratio; cheap motherboards for AM4; without overclocking with good cooling, it practically does not heat up
After the old e3-1235 (i7-2600) just heaven and earth, no flaws

Decent budget CPU, cool enough
23 July 2021
I bought the OEM version in August 2020, installed an almost new CROWN MICRO CM-4 on top, for 900 rubles at the time of purchase (set it and forget it). Almost new, because I bought it half a year earlier, for old hardware on AM2. As a result, the maximum I saw was 75 degrees, and then at its peak. Usually 65
Very cool and quite efficient
The price has gone up... I bought it for 11 thousand rubles.

I recommend for builds up to 80-90k, an excellent option for games and for work up to 13-14k

Excellent percentage, I would even say popular, but up to 13-14k, it maintains the stated frequencies, I advise you to take the OEM version and install normal cooling with a small margin)
6/12 still decide, I don’t see the point of taking more for games) An ideal option for games, its potential will last you for a long time)
At the moment its price, from 15k is tough..

7nm process technology

The release of the new Ryzen 3000 processors stirred up the stagnant waters of the global ocean of processors, in which Intel was lazily swimming, easily dominating AMD. Clear evidence that the pieces on the board have been reversed is the recent Ryzen 5 3600 chip, which belongs to AMD's 7nm Matisse family.

6 cores, 12 threads

The 3600 has six physical cores of the Zen 2 architecture and twelve virtual SMT threads, as well as a little, no small amount, 32 MB of L3 cache. Operating frequencies start at 3.6 and rest at 4.2 GHz with automatic overclocking. Thanks to the unlocked multiplier, its frequency can be raised to the level of the more expensive 3600X or even slightly higher. You can't catch up with much, the overclocking potential of the Matisse line is quite modest, but stable 4.2 — 4.3 GHz for all cores is quite possible to get. Only for this you will need an efficient cooling system (the OEM version does not have a cooler at all) and a good motherboard with a high-quality power supply subsystem. An inexpensive motherboard based on the B450 chipset will not work, ideally you need an overclocker one based on the X570.

The right chip for every task

Now let's make it work. In resource-intensive tasks, the hero of our test is 19% faster than the predecessor Ryzen 5 2600 and comes close to the Ryzen 7 2700X. In games, the novelty is faster than its predecessors by 25% and 17%, respectively. That is, the third generation Ryzen can be safely called gaming processors, this time the traditional lag behind Intel has been reduced to a minimum and is leveled by a performant graphics card. But when working with professional software, he puts the Core i5-9600K on the blades, often opening from it by more than 30 percent. In general, we have an perfect candidate for an optimal PC for games, studies, work and any task that does not require super-processors with 20 cores.
