From the press release:

Canon has announced its new flagship model, the PowerShot compact digital camera: the PowerShot G10. Replacing the PowerShot G9, the PowerShot G10 is the first G-series camera to offer wide-angle 5x (28mm) zoom imaging with optical Image Stabilizer. The addition of a 14.7 megapixel sensor and Canon's new DIGIC 4 image processor ensures superb image quality.

High quality, wide angle lens
With a wide-angle (28mm) 5x optical zoom lens, the PowerShot G10 combines outstanding wide-angle capabilities - making it perfect for landscapes, architecture or indoors - with the telephoto reach needed for flexible composition. Sharp, smear-free images across the entire zoom range are guaranteed by Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer, which offers improved performance with a 4-stop advance.

14.7 megapixel resolution with RAW
14.7 Megapixel CCD sensor - Higher resolution than any other PowerShot model, works in conjunction with Canon's new DIGIC 4 processor to deliver superior image quality that combines high detail with extremely low noise. This exceptional detail allows for large-format prints up to A2 sizes, or creative cropping in post-processing.

For more control in post-production, the PowerShot G10 includes a RAW photo mode - plus support for Canon's Digital Photo Professional software to integrate into the professional photographer's workflow.

DIGIC 4 for exceptional image quality
Canon's new DIGIC 4 processor uses improved algorithms and computational precision, enabling the PowerShot G10 to achieve 2 major benefits: ultra-fast performance, and rich, low-noise images with exceptional levels of clarity and colour reproduction.

DIGIC 4 also powers several intelligent built-in devices. Canon's new device, i-Contrast, increases the dynamic range in images to bring out previously unnoticed detail in dark areas, such as shadows, without darkening brighter areas.

Canon's anti-blur solution combats image blur caused by camera shake and movement using a range of technologies: optical image stabilizer, motion detection technology and auto ISO shift, plus a new Servo AF system - which, when turned on, continuously adjusts focus to object moving towards or away from the camera.
