A high-efficiency 18-phase power converter with a larger heatsink and improved circuitry ensures that multi-core Intel Core processors are fully powered.

Particularly noteworthy are the PCB with improved grounding of the mounting holes, Shield Frozr heatsinks for M.2 SSDs, PCI-E Steel Armor slots, built-in diagnostic tools and the Frozr AI intelligent cooling management system. MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI is based on Intel Z790 chipset, supports LGA 1700 processor socket for 12th, 13th and 14th generation Intel Core i9/i7/i5/i3/Pentium/Celeron APUs (Alder Lake series, Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh).

The board's serious technical characteristics allow the use of powerful Core i7/i9 processors, a pair of M.2 SSDs with a PCI-E 4.0 interface, standard HDDs and SSDs, as well as massive video cards. Four DIMM slots can accommodate DDR5 memory with a maximum frequency of 7800 MHz and a total capacity of up to 192 GB, which significantly exceeds the needs of 99% of users. In addition to this, the board contains a Realtek RTL8125B network controller with a bandwidth of 2.5 Gbps and a built-in wireless receiver that supports the new Wi-Fi 7 standard, but is also backward compatible with earlier versions.
