Seagate FireCuda 2.5" ST500LX025 500 GB

High-performance, low-capacity hybrid internal hard drive from the FireCuda family of compact 2.5" HDDs from 2016. This line includes three models from 500 GB to 1 TB, which are designed to solve the widest range of tasks. A key feature of this model has become the use of a proprietary hybrid design, consisting of an HDD and a special 8 GB NAND Flash cache. During active work, it consumes only 1.7 W, does not require active cooling.

Thanks to these features and special firmware, the Seagate FireCuda 2.5 "ST500LX025 hard drive combines the advantages of traditional 5400 rpm HDDs with SSD technologies that increase read/write speed by 5-10 times. It is positioned as a product of the basic price category, designed for use in laptops, small-sized desktop PCs of the mini-ITX form factor and HTPC systems. Such a hard drive can be used as the main (system) drive or paired with a more powerful SSD drive. Due to its modest overall dimensions (7 mm height) and SATA3 interface, it is suitable for upgrading existing laptops. Supports Adaptive Memory technology, which finds the most frequently requested data and caches it in Flash memory for faster access and lower power consumption.
