The G Master series of lenses includes only three lenses. But all of them provide uncompromising image quality — in terms of detail, sharpness and colour reproduction, there are practically no equals to the top three.
Versatility
The 24-70mm focal length range, which is covered by a versatile zoom lens, allows you to shoot all everyday scenes without having to change lenses. If you want, shoot architecture at the minimum focal length, or if you want, portraits at the long end. And all this can be done at the widest aperture (f / 2.8), the value of which does not change when zooming.
Heavy artillery
The epithet “heavy artillery” is most suitable for the lens: despite its huge dimensions and heavy weight (about 900 g), it “shoots” very quickly and accurately. The merit of this is laid on the shoulders of the ultrasonic focus drive, which catches the subject in 0.2 s at any quality of illumination. Autofocus can be forcibly turned off for the purpose of manual focus using the AF / MF switch on the lens body.
chic drawing
The lens simply has no drawbacks in terms of image rendering. Suffice it to say that it provides such a high level of detail that you want to look at small details in the picture for hours. And in terms of the quality and beauty of bokeh, the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM is easy to confuse with some kind of portrait lens.
Giant
When zooming, the model grows a small “trunk” (up to 3 cm at the tele-position). But the lens will not suck in dust — the all-protected case reliably limits the insides from the penetration of dirt and moisture. Despite the gigantic size and very high cost, the lens lacks a built-in stabilization system, the place for which would be more than enough. Therefore, when shooting, the photographer has to rely on the steadfastness of his hands or rely on the matrix stabilization system used in any of the three cameras of the second generation of Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras.
