Closed-back wireless on-ear headphones with Bluetooth connectivity, high-tech Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and excellent battery life (up to 30 hours). Equipped with a built-in microphone and an NFC chip for quick pairing with a source device. Positioned as a high-end product designed for users who value comfort and signature Sony Extra Bass bass sound. Thanks to the Active Noise Cancelling digital noise reduction system, the Sony WH-XB700 headphones are able to qualitatively filter out external noise that occurs on a busy street, in a shopping centre, public transport, subway, and an airplane.
For wireless connection with gadgets, an energy-efficient bluetooth 4.2 interface is used, which works within a radius of up to 10 metres. To devices that do not have a bluetooth module, they are connected with a regular detachable round cable with a 4-pin mini-Jack 3.5mm connector. High-quality sound is provided by powerful 40-mm dome-type dynamic drivers with impedance increased up to 37 ohms. Comfortable and durable design, provides comfortable coverage and secure hold on the head without excessive pressure on the ears. Audio transmission using AAC and aptX audio codecs allows headphones to receive the highest quality digital audio stream.

The headphones are made of black plastic with a matte finish that gives them a luxurious look, leather inserts on the strap and on the inside of the headphones. The headband is padded and can be extended. The earcups swivel so they can rest on my chest when I wear them around my neck. I don’t feel any discomfort even after 4 hours of continuous wear, although my ears sweat after a run. I really liked that there are controls for volume, pause and play music/video, as well as the ability to rewind the audio recording. Compared to the old XB series headphones, these have better sound clarity and better balance between bass, mids and highs. However, the XB700 still lacks mids. The autonomous charge is impressive, I track the battery charge in the Sony Headphones Connect app. In general, these are quite comfortable headphones with good sound.
