AptX support
— support of aptX technology; it can be either the original version of this technology, or more advanced standards — aptX HD, aptX LL or aptX Adaptive.aptX technology was originally developed to improve the quality of Bluetooth audio. In normal audio transmission, the signal is highly compressed, which can significantly degrade the quality — especially when listening to music. The aptX codec corrects the situation: thanks to it, the sound quality of wireless headphones/speakers becomes almost indistinguishable from wired counterparts. To be more precise, the signal quality in the original aptX is compared with Audio CD (16-bit/44.1kHz), while in aptX HD it reaches the level of Hi-Res audio (24-bit/48kHz). The aptX LL version has a slightly different specialization — it is used mainly to eliminate audio signal delays during wireless broadcasting; this avoids desynchronization between picture and sound in movies and games. And aptX Adaptive combines the capabilities of aptX HD and aptX LL, and uses a special signal transmission format that allows you to reduce the amount of broadcast data without sacrificing quality.
When choosing such devices, note that for aptX (one version or another) to work, the appropriate technology must be supported not only by the phone, but also by an external device. In addition, we recall that the quality of the transmitted sound cannot be higher than the original quality of the audio file; so it makes sense to specifically look for models with this feature if you plan to listen to high-quality audio materials a lot using the appropriate headphones/acoustics.
