— devices with back cover made of special ceramics.

Ceramic is a material obtained by sintering at high temperature. This is a rather rare, even exotic option. Varieties of ceramics used in such devices are usually distinguished by their strength, high scratch resistance and pleasant appearance. On the other hand, such covers do not tolerate point impacts; and the glossy surface that they are usually equipped with tends to slip in the hands and collect fingerprints. On top of it all, ceramic panels have a rather high cost.

Thus, this material is now found in single models — mainly premium smartphones (including designer ones). The ceramic back cover in such devices is used not so much for practical reasons, but to emphasize the style and overall status of the device. As for the bezels (see "Bezel Material"), it is most often made of metal — for additional reliability during impacts, to which the bezels are most susceptible. Cases made entirely of ceramics are used "close to none".
