— modified version of Android 8.1 (see the relevant paragraph), designed for low-cost smartphones with low hardware performance. It differs from the original primarily in a high degree of optimization: both the system itself and many standard applications (such as Assistant, Gmail, Google itself, etc.) have been seriously redesigned to minimize the load on the hardware. At the same time, the functionality and overall user experience remained almost unchanged compared to the Android 8.1. However, some things had to be sacrificed: for example, standard maps in Go Edition do not support turn-by-turn navigation.
