Classic gaming models, on the other hand, featured original designs (often with backlighting and even backlight sync — see Features) and a set of additional features that increase efficiency in games — for example, compatibility with multiple video cards in Crossfire and/or SLI format ( see "Advanced"), a high-end network controller for online battles, built-in performance management tools, etc. However, both of these types of motherboards are generally distinguished by advanced features and extensive functionality, which makes them well suited for games; and nowadays the boundary between them is often erased altogether.
