The history of the Kraken series began back in the last decade with a relatively affordable closed-back gaming headset, which many gamers loved for its high-quality sound virtualization and memorable design with an abundance of green inserts. After the success of the original model, Razer marketers launched the copier and quickly turned it into a whole sub-series, as was already the case with BlackWidow keyboards, DeathAdder mice and a bunch of other legendary things. Since then, more than a dozen different modifications of the Kraken have gone on sale, including the top model Kraken Pro, which later also received its own series.
Compared to the more affordable original, the Kraken Pro are pure premium closed-back headphones with all the developments of Razer in recent years. We are talking about proprietary surround virtualization technology, a built-in Haptics vibration system, a HyperSense feedback system, controlled Chroma lighting and modified Triforce speakers. Moreover, these are not ordinary Triforce drivers, as in other headsets of the company, but modified 50 mm Titanium class drivers, which produce extremely dense and rich sound with an emphasis on bass. This sound is especially suitable for competitive shooters and action blockbusters with well-staged cinematics.
In addition to the original Kraken Pro model, the manufacturer managed to release the modernized Kraken Pro Kitty with cat ears and variations for specific consoles. All of them have an identical design of the headband and ear pads: the body and headband are made of strong and elastic plastic, and the artificial leather ear pads remember the shape of the user's ears. High-quality upholstery and special foam material serve the sole purpose of maximizing comfort during the gaming session, so that nothing distracts the player from the virtual battle. The microphone is located on a flexible rod and, if not needed, simply rises up.
