Canon EOS M features:

Technical equipment and functionality of the camera:

Canon EOS M received an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor, whose size is 22.3x14.9 mm, a DIGIC V processor and a new Canon EF-M mount. The camera is controlled via a 3-inch Clear View II display with a resolution of 1.04 megapixels. The display is not rotary, fixed. The display sensor is made using capacitive technology and has 31 focus points. Just click on the desired area, and autofocus will work on a given point.

Flash

The camera does not have a built-in flash. But there is a hot shoe. Supplied with 90EX external flash with guide number 9.

Control

Management is carried out both through the screen and through the buttons on the case, of which there are seven pieces, except for the joystick. On the screen itself, there are four touch buttons that are located on the sides. Each of them performs its own function:
  • Changing the exposure mode
  • Calling up the OSD
  • Enable or disable touch focus or touch shutter
  • Zoom on screen
Change and adjustment of these parameters is carried out through the screen. Just click on the desired parameter and either select the desired characteristic, or drag the slider to it.

Shooting modes

In addition to standard scene programs, HDR shooting, Video Snapshot shooting, software art filters, and automatic scene recognition are available in the camera. Of all the available shooting modes, there are a few really interesting and useful ones. For example, creative auto mode, which with the help of two sliders allows you to adjust settings such as aperture and shutter speed. As well as the Video Snapshot shooting mode, where it is possible to "stitch" short video clips into a single whole. This will allow you to make small filmstrips directly through the camera.

Advantages and disadvantages:

Pros:
  • Compact size and light weight
  • Good picture quality
  • Interchangeable optics, which allows you not to stay too long on standard focal lengths
  • High resolution capacitive touch screen
  • Easy control
  • Supports the Eye-Fi Connected function, which allows you to transfer footage to a PC or other device via a wireless connection
  • Lots of auto modes, useful for beginners and hobbyists who want to get started on the go
Minuses:
  • Lack of built-in flash and viewfinder.
  • Low battery capacity for only 230 shots
  • Non swivel screen
Equipment:
  • Li-ion battery
  • Charger
  • External Speedlite 90EX
  • Neck strap
  • USB cable
  • Documentation and software
