Garmin Vivofit JR 3

In the third generation, the children's wearable gadget from Garmin has changed dramatically. There was a transformation of the device from the form factor of the bracelet into the format of "smart" watches. However, in terms of functions, the Garmin Vivofit JR3 is still focused on children of primary and secondary school age.

Achievements of goals

The model was created for kids and their parents. The benefit of wearing a gadget for a child is the promotion of an active lifestyle, while parents will be happy to set certain tasks for their child and monitor their implementation throughout the day. Timely closed “achievements” are encouraged with rewards, and “reminders” linked to a specific time of day help prevent missing tasks. For example, at 21:45 the clock will tell you to brush your teeth, and at 22:00 it's time to go to bed.

Daily activity

The parent's smartphone communicates with the watch via the Garmin Jr. mobile app. for iOS and Android. It records information about the number of steps taken, the distance covered and the time of the child's daily activity. The watch does not measure the pulse, nor does it support the collection of extended information about training — these functions are simply useless for children.

One year on one battery

The square screen of the wearable device is made using transflective technology. It is characterized by a picture resolution of 112x112 pixels with a diagonal size of 0.8". In the third edition, the watch switched to a new type of battery — CR2025. The battery charge is still enough for a year of device operation. On the shelves of stores, a children's gadget is presented in two versions from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Iron Man and Black Panther), in two colours for girls from Disney (Princess and The Little Mermaid), in three Garmin colours (bright green, lilac floral and blue stars).
