Garmin Venu

As part of the IFA consumer electronics exhibition held at the dawn of autumn 2019, Garmin showed an interesting novelty at the stands — a smartwatch named Venu. They became the first offspring of the brand to be gifted with an AMOLED display.

The screen of a wearable gadget with a diagonal size of 1.2" displays an image in a fairly high resolution — 390x390 pixels. The positive qualities of the AMOLED matrix are bright and rich colour reproduction along with high energy efficiency. Also, the Garmin Venu display got a lot of live watch faces and animated workout tips.

Monitoring "24/7"

The watch provides the ability to monitor the physiological activity of the user in the "non-stop" mode, i.e. 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The basic functionality of the model is aimed at collecting information about the training and general activity of the "carrier" during the day. Extended — for recording heart rate, monitoring breathing rate, hydration, body stress levels and improved sleep tracking. In pursuit of Garmin Venu, you can “twist” music tracks through Bluetooth headphones both from your own memory (holds about 500 songs) and from Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer streaming services.

A solid set of sensors was “packed” into the compact body of the device. Here you have a GPS module, and an accelerometer, and a gyroscope, and a thermometer, and a barometric altimeter, and an advanced pulse oximeter, and even an NFC chip. The latter is tied to work with the Garmin Pay payment service, which transforms smartwatches into a kind of electronic wallet. Finally, the model is in perfect order with battery life — in active mode with listening to music and tracking location on GPS satellites, the gadget works for about 6 hours, and in smartwatch mode it can stay afloat for 5 days.
