The device makes possible smooth cursor control on almost any surface. The laser sensor used is faster and more accurate than most traditional optical models. Two programmable thumb buttons make your work easier and faster. They are programmed to flip through web pages and photo albums, but with the help of Logitech SetPoint proprietary software, the user can reconfigure them at their own discretion. Fast scrolling lets you quickly navigate through very long documents and web pages, and incremental scrolling gives you the precision you need when navigating through photo albums, spreadsheets, and playlists. The mouse does not require special software support to get started, just plug it into the computer's USB port.

I purchased this mouse to replace the former wireless version, which sometimes disconnected from the connector for moments. Compared to wireless, Logitech M500 runs much smoother and faster. Plus, its fast scroll wheel makes it easy to scroll through long pages of websites.
The "back"/"forward" buttons are a brilliant innovation for a mouse! Wired connection, USB connection. Creative design. It has already delighted me for 3 months.
Due to the design, the left and right buttons are located in an unusual way.

a very comfortable mouse. Glad I found this particular model. Better than purely gaming ones, which are unnecessary in the office.

if you turn off the ratchet in the wheel with the button, it rotates freely, but if you release it, it spins slightly under its weight and drags the scroll along. So, it wasn't possible to use it without the ratchet.

Not recommended. The buttons are very noisy. The button on the scroll wheel glitches, it works only on the tenth try (I need this feature for my CAD work to rotate the image). One plus is that it fits well in the hand. Returned it right away. Got a refund. Bought on Brayne.

Ergonomic right-handed mouse

The Logitech M500 Corded Mouse is a classic wired full-size mouse with an ergonomic design, 4D super-fast scrolling wheel and additional customizable buttons. The body of the mouse is specially made asymmetrical so that the mouse fits as comfortably as possible in the right hand and maintains the natural position of the palm throughout the working day. Naturally, for lefties, this option is not suitable from the word at all. In size and shape, this is a classic "humped" mouse with a slightly elongated body, which lies like a glove, if you do not have too tiny hands.

In addition to the two main keys and the scroll wheel, the mouse is equipped with one additional customizable button, on which you can hang some special function in the Logitech OPTIONS software. For example, instant copying or opening a multitasking window. The 4D wheel can be used for vertical and horizontal scrolling, and you can set the reaction speed from super fast to incremental scrolling.

Sensor sensitivity 1000 DPI

Although the Logitech M500 sensor does not shine with high resolution (the ceiling is a modest 1000 DPI) and, accordingly, is not very suitable for 4K monitors, the lack of sensitivity is more than compensated by excellent responsiveness on almost any type of surface. It doesn't matter if it's a fabric, a plastic mat or a lacquered table surface. The main thing is not glass. There are no complaints about the build quality, although the plastic is quite ordinary, the case does not creak in the palm of your hand, and the buttons do not play.
