High aperture f/1.4. 9 blade diaphragm. Backlight resistant.

High-aperture fixed lens from the amateur Contemporary line, sharpened for use in conjunction with APS-C mirrorless cameras. The model is available in versions for Sony E, Fujifilm X, Micro 4/3 and L-mount bayonet mounts. In systems with a crop factor of 1.5x, the focal length of the lens corresponds to the equivalent of 35 mm, with a crop factor of 2x it is 46 mm. The optical design of the Sigma 23mm f/1.4 Contemporary DC DN, which consists of a total of 13 elements in 10 groups, uses two aspherical and three ED lenses.

The lens has good resistance to backlighting, and thanks to the 9-blade aperture design, it can “draw” beautiful bokeh when shooting with a shallow depth of field. A stepper autofocus motor is installed inside the model, allowing you to focus from a distance of 25 cm (relative to the plane of the camera's matrix). The lens also has an electronic manual focus ring. And the L-mount version has the nice ability to choose between linear and non-linear focusing ring travel. It is allowed to install light filters with a diameter of 52 mm on the front frame of a fixed lens.

New in the Sigma Contemporary line

2023 brings an interesting addition to Sigma's Contemporary line of amateur lenses - a 23mm model with an excellent f/1.4 aperture. This lens represents a significant step forward in the collection, offering high-quality technical solutions at an affordable price.

Ideal choice for everyday shooting

The Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary stands out from other lenses thanks to its 35mm equivalent focal length for full-frame cameras. This distance makes it an ideal choice for various genres of everyday photography. Among Sony E lenses, this Sigma stands out for its unique aperture, offering quality images even in low light.

Compact and functional

The Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is housed in a stylish and compact body, weighing just around 330g. The controls are minimized to a wide electronic manual focusing ring, simplifying use and maintaining an overall minimalistic design. Hidden inside the body is a sophisticated optical design comprising 13 elements in 10 groups, including two aspherical elements and a trio of ultra-low dispersion lenses, which, combined with a fast and precise AF stepper motor, guarantees excellent image quality.

Creativity is in the details

An unusual feature of the Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is its 9-blade aperture, which allows you to create expressive bokeh, which is unusual for wide-angle lenses. It is also possible to install filters with a diameter of 52 mm. This lens is perfect for a variety of shooting scenarios, both outdoors and indoors. Minor vignetting and chromatic aberration that can occur when shooting wide open can be easily corrected in post-processing.
