The background behind the subject is effectively blurred by the 9-blade aperture, which opens to a maximum of f/1.4. The minimum aperture of the lens is f/16. To improve the quality of the picture and minimize the appearance of parasitic effects (chromatic aberrations, flare and reflections, etc.), two low-dispersion elements have been added to the optical design of the Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG HSM A, and a Super Multi-Layer coating has been applied to the front lens . Also in the lens body there was a place for a fast drive of the Hyper Sonic AF automatic focusing system.
