Ultra-high performance tri-band Gigabit Wi-Fi router with 4:4×4 MU-MIMO technology and Beamforming adaptive beamforming. It is the flagship model of 2018 from TP-Link. Designed to create a high-speed wireless and cable network in a large apartment, private house or small office. Capable of creating one Wi-Fi network at 2.4 GHz and two at 5 GHz. The maximum connection speeds for these networks are 1000 and 2167 Mbps, respectively. That's enough for 4K video streaming, massive data transfer, hassle-free online gaming, and running multiple smart home devices at the same time. All cable network ports (1xWAN + 4xLAN) support connections up to 1000 Mbps. The basis of the TP-LINK Archer C5400 router was the Broadcom BCM4709 dual-core processor, operating at a frequency of up to 1.4 GHz. It is equ...ipped with an impressive amount of memory (256 MB RAM and 128 MB permanent) and two Broadcom BCM4366 chips for wireless networks. Compared with the previous flagship model of this manufacturer (Archer C3200), the platform has been completely updated and support for NitroQAM (1024-QAM) has been added, which can provide higher data transfer rates. Supports DHCP, FTP, file and print server, NAT and firewall functions.

Top class

The Archer C5400 is in many ways the best you can buy for $270. It is an ultra high performance tri-band gigabit Wi-Fi router with flagship feature set, high stability, powerful hardware platform and support for most new wireless technologies. The C5400 belongs to the AC5400 class and uses 8 antennas to create three Wi-Fi networks (two at 5 GHz and one at 2.4 GHz). The maximum connection speeds for them are 2167 and 1000 Mbps, respectively, so the total Wi-Fi throughput theoretically reaches 5334 Mbps. In general, just have time to pump out. It also looks great and has the iF Design Award 2017 to its credit.

Game features

Formally, a gaming router, therefore, it supports a bunch of functions useful for gamers. For example, Airtime Fairness technology allows you to quickly and accurately respond to requests from client devices, and NitroQAM can prioritize traffic for online games, relegating demanding torrent clients, IPTV and video hosting to the background.

8 antennas, Beamforming, RangeBoost and built-in VPN

The set of additional features does not lag behind: antennas are supplemented with Beamforming technology to focus the signal in the right direction, there is support for the RangeBoost function to increase Wi-Fi coverage (and it really works!), HomeCare built-in security set, built-in VPN, two USB ports and the ability to install Alexa voice assistant. Too bad he still hasn't learned Russian. Advanced users will be interested in the ability to configure link aggregation — WAN + LAN1 for faster Internet access and LAN2 + LAN3 for demanding clients on a local network like fast network storages.

Naturally, they ask for about $300 for such a set, so it makes sense to purchase the Archer C5400 only if creating a pair of access points in the 5 GHz band is your priority. Well, taking into account the price, I would like the ability to connect USB modems to one of the ports.
