Smartphones with Super AMOLED screens
Super AMOLED
— an improved version of AMOLED technology (see related paragraph). One of the key improvements is that Super AMOLED screens do not have an air gap between the touch layer and the display below it. This made it possible to further increase the brightness and picture quality and at the same time reduce power consumption. In general, this type of panel turned out to be so successful that at one time the demand for Super AMOLED screens far exceeded the possibilities of their production. Now the situation has somewhat leveled off; and due to cheaper production, displays of this type can be found even in relatively inexpensive devices. The main disadvantage of this technology is the same as the original AMOLED — uneven pixel wear (however, this effect usually takes several years to become noticeable).
