Mobile Phones Asus series ROG (gaming)
Asus ROG (gaming)
As one of the most prominent manufacturers of computer components and products for gamers, the Taiwanese brand Asus has been trying to take its place under the sun in the smartphone market for a year without much success. The only successful company concerns the gaming smartphone market, where Asus, along with Xiaomi Blackshark and ZTE Nubia Red Magic, is one of the trendsetters. Many experts agree that the reason for Asus's success in mobile gaming is its wealth of creation of gaming components and peripherals for PCs.
A typical Asus ROG smartphone is not only stuffed to the max, like a real flagship, but also thought out to the smallest detail. The 2021 ROG 5 model, for example, features loud stereo speakers, a second USB-C port for connecting gaming accessories, a responsive 144Hz display, advanced cooling, and separate AirTriggers ultrasonic buttons. At the same time, its volume of RAM can reach 16 GB, that is, as in modern gaming laptops. And the top 8-core processor can handle any mobile games at top graphics settings. Looking at this, it seems that Asus is trying to cross a smartphone and a portable console a la Nintendo Switch or PS Vita.
Naturally, the hardware configuration and additional features of ROG smartphones vary from model to model, but the general idea does not change. For example, in earlier 2020 models, Asus experimented with additional screens, wireless charging, and support for multi-gigabit WiGig wireless networks. In general, by the spring of 2022, Asus has already released the fifth generation of ROG gaming smartphones, as well as several upgraded or vice versa simplified modifications with the prefixes “s”, “Pro” and “Strix”.
