In this form, the composite interface is the most fully functional among popular analogue standards, allowing simultaneous operation with both audio and video. However, due to the video signal being transmitted through a single wire, its quality is quite low, and high-resolution support is not achievable.

It should also be noted that in monitors (especially those without built-in speakers), the composite input may consist of only one connector—for the video signal.

Overall, considering the described features, this interface can be considered technically outdated. At the same time, it is still often found even in modern video equipment, not to mention older devices. In some specialized equipment (e.g., car dash cameras), composite connection is almost a standard. Therefore, it is not suitable for connecting to a computer, but it can be indispensable for certain specific tasks.
