This function allows you to give commands to the computer by touching the screen — similar to how it happens in tablets. Touch displays are supported by most modern operating systems, and the controls themselves can be more convenient and practical than the traditional keyboard + mouse combination. For example, in this way it is very convenient to manage large image or map — move the image, rotate and change the scale. On the other hand, the real need for touch control arises not so often, and it costs lot. Therefore, there are few monitors with such function on the market.
