External power supply

— monitors in which the power supply is placed outside the case; usually it is located directly on the power cable (similar to how it is implemented, for example, in many laptops).

This arrangement allows you to take out a fairly significant part of the hardware outside the case. Therefore, monitors with an external power supply are themselves thinner and more elegant than similar models with a built-in power supply. However, before buying such a model, it's ok to make sure that the power supply does not create inconvenience and that there is an opportunity to place an external power supply unit normally at the installation site.
