Despite their conservatism and love for classic hi-fi headphones, the Japanese from Audio-Technica could not stay away from progress. In 2018, they entered the mass market with a pack of ANS headphones. These headphones use the so-called active noise cancellation system, in which several built-in microphones capture ambient sounds, and special algorithms translate these sounds into antiphase, making them indistinguishable to the human ear.
The company's assortment includes classic on-ear headphones with ANS, and wireless vacuum earplugs, and full-fledged TWS snails. Some of them use a combined connection, others work exclusively via Bluetooth. Some headphones use old, well-proven chassis, others are made entirely from scratch. Prices are far from the most modest - top overhead models cost about $400, and you will have to pay about $350 for waterproof ATH-ANC300TW TWS snails. And this is a considerable amount, even by the standards of Apple. Apparently, that is why closed-form over-ear headphones are in the greatest demand in the ANS series.
The main star of this ensemble is the ATH-ANC900BT model, which looks like the famous line of Audio-Technica studio headphones. These are all-plastic headphones with a flexible metal headband, swivel earcups, massive ear cushions and touch controls. 40 mm dynamic drivers produce the company's signature sound (emphasis on bass and upper mids) and are capable of sounding a private spectrum from 5 to 40,000 Hz. These headphones work using Bluetooth v 5.0 protocol and can work up to 35 hours on a single battery charge.
