SSD A-Data series XPG SX (affordable)
prices on 3 modelsA-Data XPG SX
The A-Data XPG SX are affordable M.2 entry-level SSDs that are part of the XPG gaming sub-series. Unlike their "big brothers" XPG Spectrix/XPG Gammix, XPG SX strips do not have an additional heatsink for cooling and have more modest speed capabilities. True, they cost an average of 25-30% cheaper, due to which they attract attention.
This series occupies the lowest position in the hierarchy of A-Data XPG drives. The target audience for the XPG SX is people who are looking for the most affordable yet fast M.2 SSD that can minimize cable clutter inside a PC, speed up system startup, or upgrade a laptop's internal memory without throwing an already installed hard drive into the trash. In the latter case, it is worth noting the use of simple and "cold" memory controllers that will not turn the laptop's insides into an oven.
Most often, the XPG SX drive is based on 64-layer TLC 3D NAND flash memory, equipped with a controller from Silicon Motion / Realtek and supports high-speed SLC caching. Also, many drives in this series boast improved hardware error correction algorithms, support for TRIM, NCQ and SMART monitoring technologies. Some of them have a small SLC cache, others do not.
