Model overview based on user reviews
The AMD FX 8-Core processors are praised for their affordable price and solid performance, making them a popular choice among budget-conscious users. Many users appreciate the overclocking potential and the ability to handle gaming and everyday tasks effectively. However, the stock cooler is often criticized for being noisy and insufficient, leading users to recommend upgrading to a better cooling solution. While some users note that the processor can run hot, especially under heavy loads, others highlight its cool operation with appropriate cooling. Despite its age, the FX series still competes well with newer processors in certain scenarios, although some users suggest considering newer models like Ryzen for future-proofing. Overall, the AMD FX 8-Core offers good value for money and remains a viable option for those seeking a cost-effective solution.

Pulls everything. Enough for the next couple of years.
15 June 2020
I used the FX-4, it was an ancient processor but handled everything. I decided to upgrade my PC since I had some savings. Initially, I wanted to buy a Ryzen because the motherboard was suitable for future upgrades, but I changed my mind after reading AMD news. I wanted 4GHz and didn't care about the number of cores, and then I noticed this... 8 cores and a good frequency...

As with the last one, it consumes a lot and you need to replace the stock cooler immediately, otherwise it will burn to smithereens. Well, the DDR3 RAM and its speed are not that great...
use AMD FX-9370 less than month
Great processor for the price. Better than the new i3 8100, etc., 2 times more expensive.

It’s an excellent, albeit old, processor, I use it in 2020 and everything is ok, better than any new i3 and quite competes with the i7 2600-4770, depending on the game. I use it without overclocking, memory 1600 16GB. All games run on high-ultra settings. No friezes were observed. Very cold percent, maximum 40 degrees, under the cnps10x tower. There are no competitors for this price, especially with the current dollar. After PS4, the performance seems simply cosmic, heaven and earth. + the process is already 8 years old. Of course, it’s better to take new Ryzen, but the performance of the fx is completely sufficient even now. I will update it after the console generation changes.
Price. 8 cores. No friezes. Overclocking Low temperatures.
At this price and with this age there are none.
use AMD FX-8350 OEM more than year
I'm very pleased with the purchase

I recommend it to everyone, for this price it's the best processor at retail.. but you'll want to change the cooler after 3 days of use, so get one right away to avoid a second trip to the store.. However, you might want to take a look at the AMD FX [FX-8150].
The processor is one of the best currently available on the market for ordinary people. I've been working on AMD my entire adult life in the world of computers, I won't argue that Intel's performance is 10 - 15% higher, but the price is terrifying... I've had this processor for 2 months now and I can't load it with more than 70% of normal user programs, even processing or capturing video. Assembling a top-end car cost 11,500 UAH ($1,440)... of course you need good hardware for it - a lot of video RAM, etc. I’m generally silent about games; I haven’t found a game that is on 02/01/2013. I might not have gone with this processor... I'm happy as hell))) XD
The biggest "drawback" is the stock box cooler, which revs up to 4200 RPM (according to the BIOS), making a noise like a jet plane. I solved this problem by replacing the cooler with a "ZALMAN CNPS11X Performa," which is inexpensive (350 UAH) but efficient and quiet, and most importantly, not heavy. That's about it...

Live classic

The AMD AM3+ platform can be safely called a well-deserved veteran of the processor market: released back in 2011, it was repeatedly replenished with slightly updated chip models and slowly but surely decreased in price. In the end, the eight-core processor AMD FX-8300 fell in price to a ridiculous amount of $130. For comparison, an eight-thread Intel Core i7 costs at least $350. However the performance per core of modern generations of Core i7 is much higher, and power consumption and heating are, on the contrary, lower.

Overclocking Master

Despite the relatively low nominal frequency of 3.3 GHz (auto-overclocking for two cores is 4.2 GHz), it is the FX-8300 that is the most profitable solution in the line. Why pay extra for higher frequency models if the multiplier is unlocked and manual overclocking is available? Even without increasing the supply voltage, you can raise the frequency to 3.6, and with an increase in voltage - up to 4.5-4.7 GHz(depending on the specific chip instance).

Parallelizable Tasks

Now the main target audience of the AMD FX-8300 is those who need a moderately priced computer for video editing and 3D modeling. The software for these tasks is perfectly parallelized on eight cores. However, the number of games that can benefit from eight is also gradually growing - Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Doom 2016 come to mind first.
