It is extremely unpleasant to feel how strong the beating of the cartridge is. This is surprising and annoying. I expected more. Now we just have to hope that it won’t break for a long time at home. It drills perfectly with a 50 mm Forsner drill, this is important for me. It fits any self-tapping screws, there is enough power to spare. Fits perfectly in the hand, light weight. The bits from Dewalt are very crooked, apparently they are assembled in third countries with cheap labor. It's a pity. It is too early to draw a final conclusion. For real fruitful work, you need a really good tool. When it comes to power tools, I always single out two brands for myself: Dewalt and Metabo. I often do roofing and finishing work, and here the best helper is a good cordless screwdriver. But by the word good, I mean a number of very clear requirements, among which the main ones are battery capacity, convenience, power, compactness and weight. Battery capacity, by the way, is not in vain in the first place. I think that models with a battery capacity of less than 2 Ah are not suitable for professional work at all. The fact is that there will be no problems when working in the summer and such a tool can show itself well, but as soon as the temperature drops, the ability of the batteries to discharge with high current drops sharply. Only batteries with a capacity of 3 Ah and above can somehow withstand the cold, and even then everything will depend on temperature. Very compact and, judging only by appearance, unexpectedly powerful screwdriver. The secret of this combination is the use of a progressive brushless motor. At the first speed, the one that is limited to 400 rpm, confidently tightens any screws up to 7m. The second speed accelerates the chuck to 2000 rpm and at this speed the screwdriver can compete with many drills in drilling. Drills any materials, including metal, and does it confidently, quickly, without overheating. Thanks to high-capacity lithium batteries (5 Ah), it can work for a very long time, including a fairly long time it keeps working in the cold. I also really liked the cool adjustable backlight, the flashlight mode is just great. There is a slight runout of the cartridge, but for a screwdriver this is not a defect. I have seen drills with many times larger beats)) The keyless chuck is convenient and generally reliable, but in combination with a good engine brake, it can show an unpleasant side effect. If you remove your finger from the button too quickly, then the engine brake works too effectively and the cartridge may self-release by inertia. |
I used the DCD 790 P2 model purchased from an official dealer for three years. Appearance, well-balanced design, good torque, long-lasting, capacious 5 Am/h batteries Not significant cartridge runout? Deadly unacceptable runout for a so-called professional instrument, for a serious fee! It’s annoying that the drill hits like a crooked spindle. But when, after several stops, this drill also flies out of the chuck, due to the electric brake, which clicks like the bolt of an AK assault rifle - it’s not just annoying, but simply infuriating. Someone in the comments said that this is not a drill, but a screwdriver, and here I would like to object. When you work with a tool in this mode, due to the beating of the cartridge, the bit tries in every possible way to jump out of the screw. Not only is it not a pleasure to work with such a tool at a professional level, but at the everyday level. An expensive toy means nothing. And in the price list, dealers need to write honestly that this is not a drill-driver, but a nut-driver for bed workshops to unscrew wheel nuts, where accuracy is definitely not needed if the torqueless motor has enough torque. |
