Not a flagship anymore, but still a very powerful Android smartphone with advanced photography capabilities. In the fifth generation of the "Google phone," the advanced chipsets of the Snapdragon 800 series were replaced by the "dragon" codenamed 765G — a high-end mobile processor from Qualcomm with a built-in 5G modem. The standard memory configurations for the smartphone are 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
There is no slot for expansion cards to increase the capacity of Google Pixel 5's built-in storage. The device's front is occupied by a 6-inch OLED screen, with a FullHD+ resolution (2340x1080 pixels), a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a "punch hole" for the 8 MP front camera lens in the top left corner. The square module of the main camera combines image sensors of 12.2 MP (main) and 16 MP (ultra-wide).
In the software part, portrait mode in the camera has been enhanced to produce high-quality portraits at night, and three modes of image stabilization have been implemented. The smartphone operates under the control of pure Android 11 with guaranteed OS updates for the next three years. The energy core of the model is a 4080 mAh battery with support for fast wired charging (18 W) and reverse wireless charging (11 W). The body of the device is protected from negative external factors according to the IP68 standard requirements.

Switched from Pixel 3. Watched all the reviews beforehand and did not expect it to be this awesome. 1. Ideal dimensions and weight. 2. Display. The colors and glass thickness are impressive, and the screen-to-body ratio is very good. 90 Hz is noticeably better than 60, and now I want 120. 3. The battery can last up to one and a half days with my standard usage mode. 4. Everything loads very quickly. The difference from the previous model is significant. There is no sign of being budget-friendly. 5. The old camera gets better with each phone. 6. The fingerprint scanner has also become significantly faster. You barely touch it, and it already activates. 1. The vibration motor is somewhat weak. 2. The piezo speaker doesn't produce the best sound, but I rarely talk on the phone, so I don't see it as a problem. The fact that it will never get clogged with dust is very good. A very cool phone if you buy it in the used market for 5k. The best for its money. 1. Screen 2. Processor 3. Battery 4. Sound 5. 8GB of RAM and great vibration. The Snapdragon 765G could have included 120Hz instead of 90Hz, but that's a minor detail. 2. Camera (on the Pixel 3XL it's much better). |

Traditionally, the strength of all "Googlephones" is the high quality of photography. Moreover, it is achieved not so much by increasing the number of photomodules, but by carefully working out the software “muscles” of the cameras.
Photo features
The smartphone's main camera unit consists of a 12.2 MP stabilized main image sensor and a 16 MP wide-angle lens (also with an optical stub). The main camera of the mobile device takes excellent night portraits, it has three stabilization modes Locked, Active, Cinematic Pan and has Google Super Res Zoom technology for digital zoom without loss of detail. The 8 MP island front camera does not lag behind the rear camera, selfies on which are sharp and contrasting.
