One of MSI's 2019 high performance gaming motherboards with AMD AM4 processor socket and flagship AMD X570 chipset. It is a well-equipped ATX board from the MSI Performance Gaming family, which is fully compatible with 4/6/8/12/16-core Ryzen 3/5/7/9 2000/3000 processors with Matisse/Matisse Refresh/Picasso cores /Pinnacle Ridge. UEFI BIOS update also supports Ryzen 4000 APUs (Renoir core, 7nm).
The AMD X570 chipset features an updated version of the fast PCI-E Gen 4.0 system interface from its predecessor, the X470, which opens up new possibilities for M.2 SSD performance and speeds up texture loading in some of the latest gaming graphics cards. The MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI motherboard is equipped with a reinforced 12-phase (8+4) CPU power subsystem with additional aluminium heatsinks to cool the power components. Supports basic/advanced overclocking features and fine-tuning of key components. Equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi 5 (802.11n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2, and Realtek 8111H high-speed LAN controller (up to 1Gbps).
Turned on and working
MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge Wi-Fi is a full-size ATX motherboard equipped with the older AMD X570 chipset, which, as they say, supports Ryzen 3000 and 2000-series processors out of the box (with the exception of the very low-end models 200GE, 2200G and 2400G). As you might guess from the name of the motherboard, it is equipped with a Wi-Fi 802.11ac wireless module with a data transfer rate of up to 433 Mbps, as well as Bluetooth 4.2.
CPU and memory overclocking
Reinforced processor power subsystem: digital, on doublers and with an 8 + 4-pin power connector. This ensures that even 105W Ryzen models like the 3800X or 3900X will run consistently at the highest possible Precision Boost frequency. DDR4 RAM, in the case of successful Samsung B-die, Hynix C-die or Micron H-die chips, is capable of overclocking up to 4400 MHz. There are two PIC-E x16 slots for video cards, AMD CrossFire bundles are supported, but not NVIDIA SLI.
lightning speed
There are two M.2 slots for solid state drives available at once: the first is an ultra-fast PCI-E 4.0 x4 (64 Gbps) with a passive cooler, and the second is just a high-speed PCI-E 3.0 x4 (32 Gbps), therefore without a heatsink. Another fast motherboard interface is USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps), brought to the rear panel in the form of one full-size Type-A connector and another compact double-sided Type-C.
Soul rejoices
The MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge Wi-Fi did not let us down in terms of design either. The VRM zone heatsink flows smoothly into the interface panel shroud, the chipset heatsink fits neatly into the SSD cooler, and the Mystic Light RGB LED strip is located on the right edge of the PCB. You can switch between glow modes using the Dragon Centre application, and the Nahimic programme is responsible for setting up the Audio Boost 4 sound subsystem. If the presence of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is not necessary for you, then take a closer look at the slightly more affordable model MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus, and if the decor is not important at all, then the very cheap MSI X570-A Pro.
