SLR cameras are too early to write off. The best confirmation of this is the top full frame Nikon D6 with an eye on reportage photographers and photo agencies.
Reporting qualities
At first glance, the camera seems huge and clumsy. In terms of size, it is — the DSLR is assembled in a dust- and moisture-proof case with dimensions of 160x163x92 mm and a bare carcass weight of almost 1.3 kg. However, when the essence of the matter concerns the speed of the camera, you will not find direct rivals to it during the day with fire. The model's rate of fire in burst mode in full resolution reaches 14 fps when using optics with an electronically controlled aperture. In the LiveView mode (i.e. on the screen), the camera can shoot at a pace of up to 10.5 fps absolutely silently. And in a resolution of 2 MP, it even takes overclocking to an impressive 60 fps.
Tenacious autofocus
Inside the Nikon D6 is a full-frame matrix with a resolution of 20.8 MP. Its base ISO range extends from 100 to 102400. By software, the sensitivity bar can be raised to 3.2 million ISO. It is unlikely that anyone will shoot at such values, but the numbers really look impressive. Of the cardinal innovations in comparison with the Nikon D5 , the DSLR was equipped with a redesigned autofocus system. The total number of points in it has decreased from 153 to 105, but from now on they are all cruciform. The sensitivity of the central point is up to -4.5 EV, the rest — up to -4 EV.
Battery life record holder
In terms of video, the camera offers 4K recording at 30 fps. Nothing outstanding, but not bad either. The controls on the massive "carcass" of the camera are thoughtfully and sensibly. Good free space allows. But in the matter of full-frame battery life, not a single mirrorless camera was close — 3580 shots on a single battery charge is the lot of dreams of mirrorless cameras. The model is fabulously expensive. Which, however, is not surprising for the best-in-class DSLR, sharpened for obtaining high-quality images under any shooting conditions.
