An almost perfect Android smartphone in the vision of OnePlus, whose products are deservedly known as “flagship killers”. At the head of the front panel of the mobile device is a Fluid AMOLED screen with a dense “seating” of pixels and curved sides. Its diagonal dimensions are 6.78", and the resolution is 3168x1440 pixels. What's more, the display refresh rate is 120 Hz, which achieves high smoothness of the picture in highly dynamic gaming scenes.
In terms of hardware, the smartphone received the most powerful platform at the time of the announcement, based on the Snapdragon 865 chipset with a built-in 5G modem. "RAM" on board the device, there are 8 GB, permanent memory — 128 GB (LPDDR5). OnePlus 8 Pro does not have a slot for expanding the capacity of a regular drive. The quad camera of the device consists of a 48MP main image sensor, 48MP ultra-wide, 8MP telephoto with optical stub and 5MP colour filter. The smartphone takes self-portraits with a 16 MP front camera. Additional equipment of the model includes a sub-screen fingerprint sensor, an NFC chip, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 modules. The smartphone supports fast and wireless charging (30W), as well as reverse over-the-air charging.

The OnePlus everyone's been waiting for
The once “flagship killer” OnePlus has already become a manufacturer of expensive smartphones, and OnePlus 8 Pro is a vivid confirmation of this. Not only in terms of features, but also in terms of price, it has become a worthy competitor to the flagships of Samsung, Apple, Huawei and other top brands. And outwardly, the smartphone is not much different from similar ones: a screen with rounded edges, which increases the likelihood of accidental clicks, a round cutout for the front camera, a slippery glass surface and a protruding camera unit. Therefore, you definitely can’t do without “armor” — fortunately, a silicone case was carefully put in the kit. The dimensions are also solid — 165.3x74.4x8.5 mm with a weight of almost 200 g. But most importantly, OnePlus has finally added water protection, and full-fledged with IP68, which guarantees complete protection against dust and water when diving to shallow depths. This is the first model of the company with such a rating, so this is a big step forward, because many gadgets have died after accidentally falling into a puddle, a bucket of water or a bath. In addition, the 4510 mAh battery supports fast, wireless and reverse charging (only 3 W), and the manufacturer was not greedy and put a 30 W charger in the box.
Full hardware
And the rest of the OnePlus 8 Pro is in no way inferior to modern flagships and offers everything you need for a full-fledged comfortable use. The large 6.78-inch Super AMOLED (OnePlus calls it Fluid AMOLED) display has a resolution of 3168x1440 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth animations. The flagship Snapdragon 865 processor, along with Adreno 650 graphics, can handle any task with ease, including games with maximum graphics settings, so you will definitely not feel the lack of power. You can also add fast LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. But there is no slot for a memory card (as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack), which, unfortunately, is not surprising nowadays. 128 GB in the basic configuration should be enough, but before buying it is better to think over your needs and immediately choose the appropriate volume.
The main camera does not “trump” with the now fashionable 108 MP, but it shoots at the highest level, proving that quantity is not always quality. It consists of two 48 MP lenses with optical stabilization, one of which is an ultra-wide-angle, 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an additional 5-megapixel sensor. Despite the presence of numerous modes and settings, the camera application is quite clear and convenient. The main sensor is able to combine pixels, giving out more “juicy” 12 MP images.
Also, it’s worth adding 5G support to the piggy bank of pluses (although this is not so important for us yet), a fingerprint scanner under the display, an improved vibration motor for tactile feedback and stereo speakers with a loud, good sound.
