Video reviews

The everyday fixed lens Sigma 35mm f/1.2 DG DN Art adds more than one kilogram of "net" weight to the photographer's burden, but this does not matter, because there are simply no equals in aperture ratio in the park of Sigma optics.

soft bokeh

The model is designed to work in conjunction with full-frame cameras equipped with Sony FE and Leica SL bayonet mounts. 17 elements were introduced into the design of the lens, which are combined under the wing of 12 groups. Also in the optical design, three aspherical elements and three SLD glass elements are used. The model has an 11-blade aperture, which contributes to obtaining soft bokeh with an effective separation of the sharpness zone from the background.

Juicy and sharp picture

The lens "draws" a razor-sharp image in the centre of the frame from the widest aperture holes (f / 1.2). However the result in this case can be slightly spoiled by distortions and strong vignetting. Problems are reduced to nothing at the post-production stage of the footage in a photo editor, or if you hide behind at least f / 2. In terms of colour rendering, you won’t find equal Sigma 35mm f / 1.2 DG DN Art at all during the day with fire — even JPEG files turn out juicy, let alone RAW.

Controls

A fixed lens was assembled in a weatherproof case, on the side of which there is a whole scattering of controls. In particular, the focus mode switch, the slider for turning off the stepwise movement of the aperture ring, and an additional programmable button. In addition to the lens comes a petal hood with a rubber base. But filters will have to be purchased separately, based on the fact that the diameter of the front lens of the lens is 82 mm.
