As the name suggests, AKG's In Ear lineup is an exceptionally high-end in-ear headphone with an old-fashioned design approach. Namely, first a cool sound, then everything else. Therefore, almost all representatives of the series sound great, they can voice an extended frequency range and are deprived of additional features such as active noise reduction. Most of them connect to the audio source using a regular audio cable.
The status of the AKG In Ear Headphones line is emphasized by literally every little thing, and there are no cheap models in this series. So, the popular aluminium AKG N20, in addition to pumped dynamic drivers (115 dB, 12 — 24000 Hz), boasts a fabric braided cable, a carrying case, a set of cleaning wipes and an adapter for an airplane. And the AKG N30 features exotic monitor-class armature-dynamic drivers and unusual replaceable filters that change the character of the headphones.
As for the sound itself, it all depends on the specific model. Therefore, do not trust advertising that promises buyers "legendary AKG sound." For example, the N20 aluminium earbuds produce rich and deep bass, which is why they are most often recommended for dance music fans. They say that the rumbling techno-barrel in them sounds almost like in a club. In contrast, the AKG N30, on the contrary, sound natural and lightweight, so they are often recommended for listening to jazz and classical.
