Laptops with hard drive

HDD

— laptops equipped with only classic hard drives (HDD), without using other types of drives.

The main advantage of HDD over more modern SSDs is low unit cost; in other words, high capacity storage costs are inexpensive. On the other hand, hard drives are noticeably slower than solid-state modules, they are more voracious in terms of energy consumption and are more sensitive to shocks and concussions. As a result, in modern laptops HDD are quite rare - mainly in budget and some outdated configurations. At the same time, lot of models from this category have an additional M.2 connector, or even several such connectors (cf. «Features of the drive») and allow the installation of SSD under this interface.
