The system supports up to 128 GB of unified memory, which is significant upgrade from 96 GB of M2 Max. Structurally, it is performed on 3-nm technical process and contains 92 billion transistors. The processor focuses on improving the GPU - the updated Dynamic Caching architecture is designed to improve performance in games and professional applications. For the first time among Apple processors, it implements hardware-accelerated ray tracing along with hardware acceleration of mesh shaders (Mesh Shaders). Apple MacBook Pro laptops running M3 Max easily pull the most resource-intensive projects and give solid boost in performance compared to earlier «apple» SoC.
