Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro, the body material (aluminum) and back cover (Ceramic Shield) have been changed, the processor has been improved, battery life has been increased, and the front camera and telephoto lens have been enhanced.
The souped-up Pro version of the iPhone 17 with a range of serious tech upgrades, a refreshed body, and a new optional orange colorway for the series. The smartphone belongs to the high price category and is positioned by the manufacturer as an advanced solution for users who need a higher-quality camera and a more powerful processor that can handle high-resolution shooting on the fly and instant photo and video processing.
Compared to previous generations, the iPhone 17 Pro is equipped with an updated Fusion camera in which all three lenses have a resolution of 48 MP. The camera features optical stabilization (plus sensor-shift), supports 5x zoom, and can shoot video in 4K at 60 fps. The phone’s performance is driven by a powerful 6-core Apple A19 Pro processor with an integrated 6-core graphics accelerator.
The minimum RAM is 12 GB, and the minimum built-in storage capacity is 256 GB. For the first time in the brand’s history, a miniature built-in liquid cooling system is used to cool the internals. Almost the entire front is taken up by a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with an OLED panel and LTPO support. The display has a resolution of 2622x1206, offers a peak brightness of 1600 nits, has a maximum refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and supports DC-dimming.
The screen is protected by the new, more durable Ceramic Shield 2. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports 5G, e-SIM, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and satellite communication. For charging, there’s wired Power Delivery 3.0 up to 40 W or wireless Qi2 at 25 W. The body is also protected with Ceramic Shield 2 and has an IP68 water resistance rating.
