Compared to the previous generation: the processor has been improved, a touch control button for the camera has been added, and it supports artificial intelligence Apple Intelligence.
The basic model from the iPhone 16 family features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen with a displayed image resolution of 2556x1179 pixels. The refresh rate of the display remains standard at 60 Hz, but its peak brightness in HDR mode has increased to 2000 nits. Meanwhile, the minimum brightness level can be as low as 1 nit. The smartphone is powered by Apple's in-house Apple A18 processor, built on a 3-nanometer TSMC process.
The chip includes two high-performance cores, four energy-efficient cores, a five-core GPU, and a separate neural engine. The Apple iPhone 16 128GB marks the debut of the Apple Intelligence suite, offering AI tools for text processing and advanced visual search with Visual Intelligence using the camera. Notably, the rear camera block in the smartphone retains a familiar vertical layout—the main photo module consists of a 48 MP primary image sensor with two-times zoom and a 12 MP ultra-wide lens with a macro feature.
Additionally, the model now includes an Action Button and a capacitive Camera Control button on the side edge of the body. The smartphone supports 20-watt wired charging and wireless charging using the proprietary MagSafe technology with up to 25 watts of power. Moreover, the device has been certified according to the Qi2 standard—wireless charging through it provides power of up to 15 watts.
