The largest of all existing iPhones at the time of debut in the fall of 2024. The size of the OLED screen of the model has grown from 6.7 to 6.9 inches, while at the same time it was possible to reduce the bezels. The Super Retina XDR panel displays images in a maximum resolution of 2868x1320 pixels, has an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a peak brightness of up to 2000 nits (in HDR mode).
The display still has a dynamic Dynamic Island cutout, cut to the needs of the 12 MP selfie camera lens and Face ID system sensors. The main camera of the smartphone contains a trio of image sensors: 48 MP leading, 48 MP ultra-wide and 12 MP telephoto with five-fold zoom. Video on the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB can be shot in 4K at 120 fps (ProRes or Dolby Vision), and four microphones of the so-called "studio quality" are now responsible for recording spatial sound.
The model is powered by the most powerful six-core Apple A18 Pro processor with six graphics cores and sixteen cores in a separate Neural Engine block. The smartphone debuted the Apple Intelligence generative AI system, supported by advanced visual search Visual Intelligence through the camera. The device has acquired support for faster wireless charging (up to 25 W via MagSafe technology and up to 15 W via the Qi2 protocol), and its battery life is estimated at the ability to watch videos for 33 hours in a row (the predecessor model had 29 hours).

Premium design and advanced processor
iPhone 16 Pro Max is the largest iPhone at the time of release, with a 6.9-inch display. Due to the reduced frames, its dimensions have not changed significantly, and it fits comfortably in the hand. The case is made of titanium with a matte glass panel, which gives the device a premium look and resistance to fingerprints. The Super Retina XDR screen with a resolution of 2868x1320, peak brightness of 2000 nits and a frequency of 1 to 120 Hz provides the highest image quality, and the Dynamic Island cutout adds a distinctive touch. Inside the device, there is an Apple A18 Pro, which handles heavy applications and games without overheating. One of the main innovations in 2024 was the Apple Intelligence system - AI integrated into iOS for processing photos, texts and audio.
Better photo quality and new camera features
The iPhone 16 Pro Max cameras are again at their best. The triple module includes a 48 MP main Fusion Camera, an ultra-wide lens with the same resolution, and a 12 MP telephoto lens. This allows you to take high-quality photos in any conditions, from macro to night photos. DxOMark rates the camera at 157 points, which allows the smartphone to remain in the TOP of camera phones. Apple also added the Camera Control button for quick access to camera functions.
Other specs include 8GB of RAM, satellite connectivity (in some countries), NFC for Apple Pay, an Action Button for programmable actions, and a 4,685mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 25W wireless charging. As before, there's no charger included.
