Dual Mode

— monitor mode in which a lower resolution is accepted instead of the "native" high resolution, but the refresh rate increases significantly. Typical scenario: a 4K panel operates at 3840x2160 at 60 Hz for movies and photos, and switches to 2560x1440 at 120-144 Hz or 1920x1080 at 165-240 Hz in games. The load on the graphics card is lower, the image moves more smoothly, blur in dynamics is reduced, and the response feels faster. If the scaling is proportional (for example, 4K → 1080p = 2:1), the sharpness remains decent—you lose some detail, but gain in dynamic games.
