Tiger Lake CPU laptops
Intel Tiger Lake (11th generation)
— family of processors from Intel introduced in August 2020. They use the same 10nm process technology as the previous 10th generation chips, but the microarchitecture is new — Willow Cove; it is an evolution of Sunny Cove used in the 10th generation Ice Lake family. Key updates to Tiger Lake include improved inter-process communication efficiency, an updated 12th generation graphics core with 96 compute units and native L3 cache, as well as support for PCI-E 4.0, Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 interfaces. In general, the processors showed very significant increase in performance compared to their predecessors; they look quite decent in comparison with direct competitors from the Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 series. At the same time, note that in the case of laptops, the actual performance of the same chip from this line will significantly depend on the TDP (heat dissipation) limit, provided in particular laptop.
