The Descent smartwatch is a new generation of diving devices with unique capabilities. The Descent series watches include several diving modes with different gas mixtures, Gauge mode with underwater navigation and a "speedometer", as well as many different swimming modes (freediving, spearfishing and regenerative breathing apparatus mode).
The Descent watch can also measure the depth and time of immersion, the rate of ascent and descent, display PO2 indicators, N2 loading and decompression information, set a route for underwater navigation and signal the imminent change of time of day. In parallel, they can "shoot" physical indicators of the body, including pulse, temperature and oxygen level in the blood. For a reason, Garmin itself quite seriously calls them wrist computers for divers and divers.
The most relevant representative of the Decent series is the Descent MK2 smartwatch, which was presented to the public in the spring of 2021. Like many Garmin watches, they are equipped with a non-touch transflective display with a resolution of 280x280 pixels, support replaceable QuickFit format straps and can work up to 1200 hours in energy saving mode. The Decent MK2 titanium case is capable of withstanding immersion to a depth of 100 metres.
The Decent MK2 watch is sold either by itself or immediately bundled with the Descent T1 sensor, which informs the diver about the pressure in the cylinder. With the help of a watch and a sensor, it is also possible to monitor other divers and their cylinders at a distance of up to 10 metres. A useful option for diving instructors.
