Flagship at a more affordable price
The Garmin Fenix E, introduced in 2024, is a “lightweight” flagship with a 47mm case. Unlike the Fenix 8, the E version does not have a full-fledged flashlight, speaker, microphone, does not support ECG, and is not available with a solar battery.
But the watch is available at a lower price and at the same time retains many flagship functions, such as advanced navigation with map downloads and route guidance, sports functionality with calculation of various indicators and progress tracking, as well as additional sensors: compass, altimeter, pulse oximeter and thermometer. In addition, the model supports contactless payments via Garmin Pay, has a built-in player, Wi-Fi module, ANT+ support and can send alarm messages (upon request or when incidents are detected).
Durable and water resistant
The smartwatch body is made of plastic, but with a metal back cover and a steel bezel. The model complies with the military strength standard MIL-STD-810 and is equipped with a protective Gorilla Glass to protect the dial.
The watch has high-quality water resistance up to 10 ATM, making it suitable for swimming and water sports such as surfing, kayaking and wakeboarding.
Bright screen and decent battery life
Fenix E, like the 8th generation Fenix, uses an AMOLED display - a touchscreen with a diagonal of 1.3 inches and a resolution of 416 × 416 pixels, which supports automatic brightness control and has a large selection of dials. The watch demonstrates good autonomy: from 42 hours with GPS constantly on to 21 days in power-saving mode and up to 16 days under standard conditions.
Compared to other models in the Garmin Fenix E line, it is cheaper, although still an expensive model. However, it is a worthwhile investment for those looking for a durable, reliable and functional smartwatch with a wide range of features.
